South Americas largest gold mine is Paracatu, a Kinross mine, based in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Zijin Mining Group’s Bor copper mine in Serbia is the biggest gold producing mine in Europe. The Olimpiada mine in Russia, owned by Polyus, is by far the largest in that country. Kibali gold mine in the Kilo Moto region of DR Congo is the biggest gold mine in Africa. The Grasberg copper mine in Indonesia is the largest gold producing mine in the world. Australia’s largest mine is the Kalgoorlie Super Pit, closely followed by Boddington (both based in Western Australia).
